Summary: Great Holiday Tunes!
Comment: I was one of the lucky folks to see the Straight No Chaser 12 Days of Christmas performance from 1997 shortly after it was put on youtube in late 2007. I was ecstatic to discover the original ensemble had reunited and made a cd. With so many standard tunes out there, I loved hearing the fresh twist Straight No Chaser put on every song they did. This a unique, must-have addition to any Christmas music library!

Comment: This CD put a smile on my face for the holidays! Even some of the songs that you get tired of hearing all season long are enjoyable. Twelve Days of Christmas and Indiana Christmas are my personal favorites. I look foward to finding more of Straight No Chaser's music!

Summary: A Wonderful Holiday Addition
Comment: There may not be any new holiday tunes on this CD, but the old standbys are approached with wonderful freshness. The fellows who comprise Straight No Chaser invoke the musical savvy and discipline of such established groups as Chanticleer out of San Francisco, with perhaps a touch more tongue-in-cheek--check out their rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Holiday Spirits makes a superb addition to any holiday musical library.

Comment: I was thrilled to add this CD to my Christmas music collection. If you think you've heard every rendition of every Christmas song ever recorded, then you haven't heard Straight No Chaser yet! Hear a sample of their incredible sound at their web site (just google them!) and you'll want more!

Summary: Christmas Fun and Cheer
Comment: This group has a phenomenal blend of tight a capella harmonies. Their light hearted re-do of The 12 days of Christmas is great! If you are looking for total religious / traditional - this may not be for you. But if you are looking for something that is lighter in nature and yet maintains great harmonies without the added noise of contemporary "music" you will love this.
