Customer Rating: Summary: Definitely A Long Time Coming! Comment: This CD is AWESOME! Definitely put it at the top of your list to purchase! I play it all of the time. Wayne did an excellent job for his first CD. I'm ready for a follow-up CD! His cut, "Back in the Day" is a very "catchy" tune and takes me back to the 70's and 80's when I was a teenager/young adult and could relate to all of the things he sang about!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great CD Comment: Love this CD. It's very cool and mellow. I have always been a Wayne Brady fan since Who's Line. I'm glad he finally put a CD out, he's multi-talented and so cute!
Customer Rating: Summary: The Perfect Introduction Comment: Being a hard critic of artists remaking classic R&B songs, I was very impressed of his version of Sam Cooke's song on the Tavist Smiley Show. I purchased the CD 45 minutes from my house, and I played track one until I pulled into my driveway. It is critical for a music artist to introduce himself on his or her first CD, and I must admit he made a positive first impression. Not only did he introduce himself to his listening audience, he demanded and received the respect he deserves as a music artist. I knew he could hit a few notes every now-and-then, but who knew he could, 'blow,' when seeing him act silly on television? The pressure is on for him to devliver a powerful sophmore CD in 3 years, and I believe he will not disappoint his listening audience. If he can avoid remaking a lot of classic R&B songs and write from the heart, Wayne Brady will establish his own roots as preferred by a gentleman.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wayne Brady??? Who knew? Comment: This album is great. All the tracks are memorable...I've even learned the words to a few of the songs. It is definitely a welcomed surprised.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for your collection! Comment: Wayne Brady has delivered a wonderful album to add to your SOUL/R&B collection! The album is filled with well crafted songs you can't help but enjoy. From remakes of Sam Cooke and Stevie Wonder to original titles such as Ordinary, this album is just a blast to listen to. Track 3 (Back in the Day) is full of single potential and up there with similar classics such as Will Smith's "Summertime." The songs aren't too complex but they do deliver. I appreciate this addition to my collection and congratulate Wayne on delivering such a well rounded CD. Lets just hope his second outing is a tad more dynamic.
