Comment: "Over and Underneath" is a great album. Period. I've had it for awhile, and I still keep finding new songs that move me. My only complaint would be that the band has a sort of poppy sound, but don't let that fool you. The lyrics here mean something. I think everyone can relate to the words in these songs.
"Times" is probably one of the best songs I've ever heard. It is basically a conversation between a man and God:"Are you done forgiving/or can you look past my pretending/I'm so tired of defending/what I've become." God answers that His love is everywhere, "My love is over, it's underneath/it's inside, it's in between/the times you doubt me...." It almost sounds like a lullaby from God. "Love is Here," the lead single from the album is a catchy number, as well as "Beloved," which is taken from the Song of Solomon.
I haven't got tired to listening to this CD, despite the fact that it's been in steady rotation in my CD player. I would recommend buying this album to anyone.

Summary: Extremely good debut by Tenth Avenue North
Comment: Tenth Avenue North is another great new band to emerge on the CCM scene in the last few years. If you like Rush of Fools, Ruth and Starfield, then you should really enjoy Tenth Avenue North. The debut single Love Is Here is one of my favorite songs of the year and I can't get enough of the sincere and catchy chorus "Love is here, Love is now, Love is pouring from His hands, From His brow, Love is near, It satisfies, Streams of mercy flowing from His side, Cause love is here". The song is moving and biblical and is based on Romans 5:8.
Over And Underneath is an extremely good debut album in my opinion and just misses my top 10 of 2008 (#12 to be exact). The second song Lift Us Up To Fall is a great anthem of faith and will have you singing along in worship. A song I keep coming back to is By Your Side, also written as though being sweetly sung by Jesus. Lead singer Mike Donehey says: "By Your Side" is just a call to anyone who's struggling or fighting against God thinking they have to work to earn it. It's calling them to stop looking for what you can do for God and fix your gaze upon what God has done for you. Let that motivate you. We love because He first loved us." Another solid song on the album is Beloved, which is a great confession in the style of Wedding Dress by Derek Webb. I also really like Break Me Down, Hold My Heart, and Satisfy. Tenth Avenue North is brimming with potential and earnest worshipful lyrics. For me this album scores 86% out of 100%, 4 1/2 stars.

Comment: They are a vibrant young bad with lots of energy and an excellent message. I love almost every song, "By your Side" being my favorite. I've seen them in concert and they are loaded with energy and love for the Lord with no fear of sharing it. Lots of positive messages in-between some of the songs. I highly recommend this young Christian band.
