A good alternative to the windshield mount which can fall off, especially with the C5XX series which are bulkier. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: This is an excellent product. Works great. Does not slide even on the sharpest turns. Makes using the GPS a snap since you can simply throw the mount on the dashboard. When i leave my car, I just put the mount on the floor..very convenient not having to put on and take off the suction from the windshield. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to remove stays put Comment: We drove 3500 miles and this never moved. It is easy to take off and put in the trunk when parked or move to a different car. I would never go back to the sticky dashboard mount. Customer Rating: Summary: Solid, Stable Mounting Option for all Garmin NUVI GPS models Comment: I was using the Garmin supplied glass suction-cup mount but grew weary of having to peel it off (and deal with the resulting dirty ring) every time I moved my Nuvi. This mount makes it easy to move the entire GPS unit out of the sun and prying eyes. It's a real plus if you move your GPS between vehicles. It's stable, and doesn't slide around, even with spirited driving. It's heavy enough to hold my Nuvi while I poke at the screen, all with minimal movement. Note- In some states (California for sure), the use of any mount that attaches directly to the glass is prohibited, making the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount a necessity.
