Comment: I really enjoy the uniqueness of this product, but was a little disappointed at how fast the 25watt bulb that came with it burned out. And good luck if you live in a smaller town, trying to find a replacement 25watt bulb.

Summary: More for looks than lighting out of the box
Comment: My family bought this lamp for me for father's day and I thought the lamp looked cool right from the start. On the day that I was unboxing it and putting it on my desk, I had to wrestle with the thing to get it standing. What made this process more difficult was that the joints are not held in place by tension or friction, but rather a small set screw that you have to use the supplied allen wrench to tighten them up.. kind of a pain if you want to ever reposition the lamp.. you'll find yourself having to dig for the allen wrench in order to do so. Though I really see this as not being able to withstand too many of those adjustments since the whole structure is not as sturdy as it appears on the box.
So the lamp is all set up.. I plug it in and flip the switch and the LED "bulb" that comes with it did not shed that much light at all.. so little in fact that I could see eye strain and headaches coming when trying to use it. For an aesthetic lamp.. this would be nice since the light has a blue hue to it.. but as a desklamp.. forget it. I had just about resigned myself to taking it to work as a conversational piece.. but decided to try and replace the LED with an incandescent bulb of the required wattage. Doing that made all the difference in the world.. so now does it not only look cool.. but it is functional as well!
