Summary: Broken Drum
Comment: This rhythm band set was touted as being for toddlers. When it came, the favorite instrument, of course, was the drum. Within 10 minutes of normal use by a 4 year old, the drum head was broken. When I examined it, I saw that it was made of paper. A toddler toy should be made of indestructable materials, not brown paper bag material. This was a birthday present for one of my twin grandsons. He was terribly disappointed, and so am I. I would never recommend this toy to anyone, even though the rest of the instruments were appropriately constructed.

Summary: Excellent set--real instruments for kids
Comment: An excellent product. We started "music together" classes with my two toddlers and we wanted a basic rhythm set without breaking the bank. This is by far the best deal for the money--more durable (and you get more items) than Melissa and Doug, they are REAL instruments (not bug-shaped and brightly colored like the Parents' set at Target which looks gimmicky IMO)! The drums are awesome--very good quality (I've been banging on them as hard as I can--feels very sturdy). Sand blocks are a must! We love LOVE this set!

The instruments in this set were selected by Bob McGrath - "Bob on Sesame Street". They are sure to be a hit with preschoolers and early elementary children. Includes: wood block (with mallet), tambourine, 1 pair sand blocks, 1 pair combination rhythm sticks (1 ribbed and 1 smooth stick), 1 pair maracas, triangle (with striker), 1 pair finger cymbals, drum on handle (with mallet), and play-along CD - all in a reusable box with handle for easy transport. The included CD was CD produced, written, & narrated by Bob McGrath; the music was composed, arranged, & produced by Mark Walker. Tracks 1-9: Starting with the drum, each track adds a new instrument. Track 10 has all instruments, added one at a time. Tracks 11-15 are more complex, multi-cultural rhythms.
