Customer Rating: Summary: Great movie Comment: This is a great movie. I watched probably 30 times as a kid and had lots of lines by Sir Percival Blakeney memorized. "Sink me! Your tailors have betrayed you!"
Customer Rating: Summary: The best Pimpernel Comment: I think this Anthony Andrews/Jane Seymour version is superior even to the Leslie Howard Merle Oberon version. In addition to Anthony Andrews skill in his various disguises, he also shows an athleticism that is lacking in the Leslie Howard version. The plot of the Jane Seymour/Anthony Andrews version is more complex than the Leslie Howard version with the addition of King Louis son.
It has to be one of the most entertaining period movies around.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Great Service! Comment: We love this story, and have seen the old movie and the new musical version. This is our favorite movie version. The lead does a great job - playing the fool, and the hero! We recommend it for families - decent, exciting, suspenseful, romantic, and educational, - all while being so entertaining!
Customer Rating: Summary: The Scarlet Pimpernel Comment: This is an excellent movie about the French revolution. If you like period dramas, you'll love this movie. Anthony Andrews is absolutely perfect as the Scarlet Pimpernel and Jane Seymour is lovely as usual. Also you can see a much younger Ian McKellen, years before he played Gandalf in The Lord Of The Rings. I really enjoyed this movie and hope you will too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Greatest Movie Ever Comment: This movie is the best movie ever and Amazon got it to me on the day they said they would. It was in perfect condition.

The swashbuckling classic comes to rip-roaring life in this lavish production, filled with breathless romance and derring-do! In the eyes of high society, Sir Percy Blakeney (Brideshead Revisited's Anthony Andrews) is a typical fop, surrounded by adoring ladies and clueless gentry. However, he is also a master of disguise and bears an infamous secret identity: the Scarlet Pimpernel, dashing and fearless rescuer of victims of the French Revolution! Sir Percy also falls head over heels for the beautiful Marguerite (Somewhere in Time's Jane Seymour), who is also wooed by the villainous Paul Chauvelin (The Lord of the Rings' Sir Ian McKellan), Robespierre's Chief Agent for the Committee of National Security. Suave, stylish, and utterly irresistible, this dazzling adventure is sure to capture your heart!
