Summary: A Great Disney Mystery
Comment: As a child growing up in the 70's and 80's, I thoroughly enjoyed the Wonderful World of Disney that aired on Sunday nights. This film was one of those reasons why I enjoyed the series so much.

Child of Glass stars a young boy named Alexander who with his family move into a new house in Kentucky. While the rest of the family focuses on remodeling the home, young Alexander is exploring something else- the ghost of a young girl.

Upon further investigation, and visitations with the girl, he learns the name of the ghost, Inez. She pleads with Alexander to solve a riddle and find the "Child of Glass" which will bring closure to her life and will release her from being a ghost. She convinces Alexander to help her solve the riddle and he enlists his new friend Blossom to help him.

The most touching point in the film, is during a dance Alexander's family holds to celebrate the newly restored home. Inez appears and tells Alexander that she can become real just for a few minutes, and asks him to dance with her. It truly shows that a friendship has begun and Alexander becomes more intent on helping his new friend move on.

The end of the film finds Alexander and Blossom in a creepy cemetery where Inez's body lies. Alexander and Blossom are racing against the clock to help Inez rest in peace.

I can't believe that Child of Glass has not yet appeared on dvd. It's a great film, that evidently Disney has forgotten (along with many other great ones....The Ghosts of Buxley Hall, The Mystery of Dracula's Castle, etc). Disney has created a Wonderful World of Disney line as an exclusive for Disney Movie Club members, so maybe they'll release it as a part of that collection, or better yet in a public release for ALL to enjoy.

Until then, get your hands on the vhs and relive those great Disney memories. The film is just as good now as it was then.

Summary: Sleeping lies the murdered lass, Vainly cries the Child of Glass. When the two shall be asone, The spirits journey will be done.
Comment: This is one of the movies I rented at my local video store. I thought it to be a pretty good movie. I, of course, love any old Disney movie(pretty much.) I won't describe the movie, so I don't give away anything, but I highly recommend this movie. It's a nice change from all the gore on TV right now.

Summary: old childhood memory
Comment: I saw this movie as a kid and was entranced by the spooky mystery and the ghost of child who needed help. I contacted Disney, but they don't have any immediate plans to put the movie on DVD. In the meantime, I highly recommend the book upon which the movie is based:
The Ghost Belonged to Me by Richard Peck.
The story is a bit different from the movie but that makes it all the more worthwhile to read.
