Customer Rating: Summary: 3.5 stars out of 4 Comment: The Bottom Line:
Though the Godfather Part II shows flashes of brilliance, it's also very long and the timeline featuring young Vito, though well-done, does not seem exigent; all things considered it's a good film, but it doesn't match up to the original.
Customer Rating: Summary: A GREAT SEQUEL TO A GREAT MASTERPEICE! Comment: The Godfather part 2 is HIGHLY recomended by me. It is not as good as the first, but it's still great! The only part i don't approve of is Michael ordering Al Neri to kill Fredo(HIS BROTHER!!!) Although he took sides against the family, you should always love your brother. Anyway, great highly recomended 5 star sequel!
Customer Rating: Summary: slightly disappointed Comment: While the copy and content are of couse excellant; the billing of this movie is deceiving. This is not a restored copy; the missing parts are still missing. This is basically the version shown on good television stations like Turner Classics.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just As Good As The Original!!! Comment: I thought The Godfather Part II was just as good as the first one, but I still like the original better. A few years after the original, Michael Corleone has risen to power as the new Godfather. While seeing Michael's story, we travel back in time and see a young Vito Corleone become the Godfather that he was in the original. Michael goes before the the United States Senate committee and tells the committee that he is not in the mafia and had nothing to do with the killing of the heads of the five families. Some parts were kinda confusing for me, because I haven't watched these since I was in either 4th or 5th grade. If you love classics, and the Godfather series, you'll love THE GODFATHER PART II!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Epic masterpiece Comment: A really epic (in a good way!) continuation from the first film, showing the story of Marlon Brando's character's story juxtaposed with the continuing descent of Pacino's character into a world of increasing paranoia and violence.
As with the first film, this one is superbly acted and directed, and is a truly great film that any lover of movies should see.

Francis Ford Coppola took some of the deep background from the life of Mafia chief Vito Corleone--the patriarch of Mario Puzo's bestselling novel The Godfather--and built around it a stunning sequel to his Oscar-winning, 1972 hit film. Robert De Niro plays Vito as a young Sicilian immigrant in turn-of-the-century New York City's Little Italy. Coppola weaves in and out of the story of Vito's transformation into a powerful crime figure, contrasting that evolution against efforts by son Michael Corleone to spread the family's business into pre-Castro Cuba. As memorable as the first film is, The Godfather II is an amazingly intricate, symmetrical tragedy that touches upon several chapters of 20th-century history and makes a strong case that our destinies are written long before we're born. This was De Niro's first introduction to a lot of filmgoers, and he makes an enormous impression. But even with him and a number of truly brilliant actors (including maestro Lee Strasberg), this is ultimately Pacino's film and a masterful performance. --Tom Keogh
