Summary: A must for any carol burnett fan!
Comment: This has several hilarious sketches, including when Eunice gets on The Gong Show and "Went With The Wind", which to this day is still one of the best comedy skits ever. Definitly a good buy.

Summary: This Show Needs To Be Put On DVD In Complete Seasons!
Comment: I love The Carol Burnett Show and this tape has some very funny stuff like the hilarious spoof of Gone With The Wind. I know that they show reruns on TV but they always shorten it to 30 minutes and that just isn't enough and I think this show should be put on DVD in complete season DVD sets!

Summary: The Archives hold a few BETTER ones than these!
Comment: With the recent release of "The Best of the Carol Burnett Show" on video and DVD, "Carol Burnett's My Personal Best" falls rather short. Of course, putting together an hour compilation from eleven years of sketches and production numbers was a hard task for even Miss Burnett. This video, released in 1987, has three really strong sketches: the first ("The Kidnapping") features Burnett as the wife of a kidnap victim that has to retell the ransom call and finds herself becoming more involved (with increasingly greater hilarity) in the "drama" and lure of the television camera; the fifth ("The Recital") has to be the funniest one minute and six seconds ever done by the regulars Carol, Harvey, Vicki, and Tim; and the last one, the classic send-up of "Gone With the Wind" entitled "Went With the Wind" is unequaled in yeilding big laughs.
The "family" sketch, although funny, was far from one the series' best installment of that particular brood. "Fire at Will", featuring Tim and Harvey, doesn't generate the laughs that some of their other pairings over the years produced.
Fans of the show would be better to save their "pennies" for the more comprehensive collection available today.
