Summary: Good Addition To a Harry Potter Collection
Comment: The Harry Potter Schoolbooks are written as if they really came from the wizarding world. The box set contains just too books which are around 50-70 pages long each, but include interesting back-story about the world of Harry Potter with respect to beasts and Quidditch. The books are inexpressive and also 20% of the cost should go to charity. I would really like to see more schoolbooks come out now that the seventh book in the series has been written. Half-Blood Prince's Potions book anyone?

Summary: My son (10 y/o) can't get enough Harry Potter
Comment: My son finished these books in about 2 days. I wish they had been longer, as I can't seem to find books that he likes as well as Harry Potter.

Summary: hp school books
Comment: although some parts were interesting, there were parts that seemed boring and repetitive of what was written in the 7 hp books. although these books are a great extention for the harry potter library and there are fun little writings in the beasts one, they do get a little boring at times.

Summary: A special peek into the world of Harry Potter.
Comment: These books are a unique gift from the ever creative mind of J. K. Rowling. For the avid Harry Potter enthusiast, these book give you a new perspective on the Harry Potter world. For the Harry Potter fan, the books are well written and fun to read. In addition, I loved the hand written notes from Harry and Ron. Very funny and lots of fun.

Summary: Walk in Harry's Shoes for a Great Cause
Comment: Brought to the muggle world for the first time, these two school books bring the reader one step closer to the world of Hogwarts and provide additional information not found in the beloved series. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a replica of Harry Potter's own school book and includes his scribbles in the margins as well as those of Ron and Hermione. This book reads a little like an encyclopedia with entries for many of the magical creatures met during the series as well as some that are not included. "Quidditch Through the Ages" is taken straight from the Hogwarts library and includes a list at the beginning of those who have checked it out over the years. This book provides a history of the sport, how it began and evolved. If you ever wondered where the golden snitch came from, this slim book provides all of the answers.

Both books are quick and easy reads that provide a great supplement for the avid Harry Potter fan. Rich with information, they are relatively inexpensive; binding is cardboard, but some effort is made to make them appear more authentic. Introductions by Professor Dumbledore, fantastic sketched by JK Rowling, and commentary from the trio make these books a treasure. If you needed any further inspiration to purchase these books, proceeds benefit Comic Relief, an organization that helps disadvantaged children throughout the world.

Editorial Reviews:

When first released to Muggles in March 2001, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages further enlightened Harry Potter fans about the dangers and delights of the wizarding world. Now these two charming works of non-fiction are available in hardcover -- in a special keepsake slipcase edition!
