Wee're So Happy
WeeMees Get Emotional On MSN Messenger 7.5
(PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- WeeWorld, creator of the WeeMee visual identity
has teamed up with MSN, to give millions of Internet users in the United
Kingdom, Spain, Holland and Belgium, the chance to create and experience
emotionally intelligent WeeMees within MSN Messenger 7.5, one of the world’s
largest instant messaging (IM) services with more than 170 million active users
each month.
MSN Users have been able to create basic WeeMees in a
downloadable user tile picture format since version MSN Messenger 6 became
available in 2003. However, in MSN Messenger 7.5, the WeeMee builder is
integrated into the MSN Messenger Client making it an embedded
feature.
The emotionally intelligent WeeMee allows customers to express
themselves in more creative ways Now, instead of insincere smilies or annoying
abbreviations, users can show others exactly how they feel. If they're unhappy,
the owner's WeeMee can now stare remorsefully out from their tiny, animated
window, shrouded in rain – unhappy, sad and sorrowful. Likewise, emotions
including happiness, anger, confusion or surprise can now be conveyed with the
help of a suitably expressive WeeMee. In addition, owners can also create and
download animated 3D WeeMee characters, for the ultimate personalized, animated
mobile wallpaper.
The WeeMee is incredibly flexible and allows creators
to build an on-line character that looks just like they do, dresses in the same
way and portrays their interests, enthusiasms, causes and passions - even their
drinks preference. From sports such as football, rugby, tennis, skateboarding
and skiing through to party girls, pets, music, fashion, toys, kids, charity,
technology and gadgets, there are millions of possible combinations of WeeMee;
enough for almost everyone in the world, plus a few more for good luck. Owners
can even choose their own animated backgrounds, with everything from a tropical
beach – with gently lapping waves – or cityscape – with regular airline
departures - through to the surface of the moon, or the bottom of the ocean –
luckily WeeMees can survive almost anywhere. WeeMees can also be tied into their
owners’ favorite real-world locations, hang-outs and venues, allowing WeeMee
owners to find friends and family – or other WeeMees in their local
neighborhood.
Owners pay approximately £3.00 to download their WeeMee in
the UK, while owners in Spain, Holland and Belgium pay approximately €3 to use
their WeeMee for MSN Messenger conversations or to their mobile phone handset.
Over 3.5 Million MSN customers in the UK alone have already created a
WeeMee, joining WeeWorld's global community of over 5 million
WeeMees.
“We're very proud of our relationship with MSN,” said Celia
Francis, the Chief Executive Officer of WeeWorld. “WeeMees provide customers
with the personalization features they are looking for and allows them to create
an emotional bond, which is a key feature of the WeeMee and the WeeWorld
service. WeeMees are a fun and simple way to make their MSN Messenger and mobile
experience more personal and creative. We're delighted that the WeeMee has
become an integral component of MSN Messenger 7.5 and more customers will be
able to enjoy discovering the delights of our WeeWorld.”

WeeWorld
Founded in March 2000, WeeWorld is the
creator of the WeeMee and a pioneer in advanced mobile and online social
networking. WeeMees are a complete visual representation of their creator, which
can be used both online and on their owner's mobile phone handset. A WeeMee
reflects its owner almost completely, from physical appearance including
features, hairstyles, clothes and accessories, through their interests,
enthusiasms and passions - and into the real world, with the owner's favorite
places and locations acting as focal points for groups of WeeMees. This creates
a parallel world of alter-egos with emotional content and expression where real
people can enjoy social networking to the full in a secure environment, where
anonymity is assured.
WeeWorld has been recognized by a number of leading
publications and services as one of the most exciting new services for the
Internet and mobile phones in the world today. In 2003 Fortune magazine awarded
the company the 'Coolest International Business' award. WeeWorld is also a
recipient of Red Herring 100 Europe, a selection of the 100 private companies in
Europe and Israel that play a leading role in innovation and technology.
WeeWorld is backed by Benchmark Capital, one of the world's leading investors in
high technology companies
