Cameron Communications Takes Fiber to the Home Another Step Closer
Local Southwestern Gulf Telco completes phase 2 of uprecendented fiber to the home expansion outside of its traditional service area, enabling new subscribers to utilize the latest in communications technology.
(PRWEB) September 14, 2005 -- Cameron Communications began construction on
the second phase of their FTTH (Fiber to the Home) project, expanding its
offering to an additional 1000 Grand Lake residents. With an aggressive
construction timeline, new services will be available to the first 200 by mid
September.
The new service offerings from Cameron Communications will
eliminate the need to sign up with multiple companies for traditional offerings
like telephone and cable television services. Instead, Cameron Communications
will offer Grand Lake residents digital telephone, high speed internet, and
television services with only one bill from one local service provider. Grand
Lake residents can sign up for these new services during the construction phase
and as a special promotion, Cameron Communications is offering free installation
with no equipment purchase required.
Houses and business located
beginning at 1670 Hwy 384 to Broussard Road will be among the first in Cameron
Communications new construction area to receive this new service. It will also
include the side streets between LaBove and LeBoeuf Roads. The areas south of
10286 Gulf Highway to Boones Corner and west to Donna Road will also be included
in Phase II. The second half of the construction project will then turn north
from 10286 Gulf Highway to the Gulf Stream Manor Mobile Home Park. It will
include all side streets east and west of the Gulf Highway. Greathouse Road will
serve as the eastern border with the Intracoastal canal as the western
boundary.
According to Cameron Communications General Manager George
Mack, “The fiber optic lines Cameron Communications deployed last year in our
first phase of providing alternative service to the residents of Grand Lake has
already been met with a very high level of success. Having a fiber optic
infrastructure has been a huge boost to the area economy, and this network will
continue to give the community a significant advantage in stimulating economic
development.”
Cameron Communications’ fiber optic network provides the
newest in communications technology, providing subscribers with digital
television including more than 150 channels, broadband internet connections with
speeds up to 3.0 Mbps, as well as enhanced voice services with local calling to
Lake Charles and all of Cameron Parish.
Best of all, your existing local
phone numbers are completely transferable. To order any of Cameron
Communications’ PowerHouse services, Grand Lake residents should call 905-2111or
