Mecklenburg Technology Group To Market Volicon Observer
Mecklenburg Technology Group is proud and honored to have been accepted to assist Volicon, Inc. in marketing their Observer product. Volicon's Observer is a sophisticated, network-ready, recording and streaming system for the broadcast industry.
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) September 6, 2005 -- Mecklenburg Technology Group
announced today that it has been accepted by Volicon, Inc as a sales agent for
its Observer real-time monitoring and recording system.
The Observer
system allows broadcasters to efficiently log their own and their competitors'
broadcasts, move to an actual or relative time stamp based using the station's
clock, retrieve and analyze video clips based on as-run-log data, and view
content locally or remotely. The ability to store and retrieve metadata provides
users with significant advantages, including a powerful search feature that can
be used with the metadata. For example, Observer users can find and select clips
based on a search for words and phrases in closed captioning data. Another use
of the metadata is the ability to overlay ratings information in real-time
during playback of stored clips.
Applications for Volicon's Observer
technology are broad and include logging broadcasts to meet FCC compliance,
competitive news analysis, ad compliance verification, and overseas broadcast
monitoring by government agencies.
The typical Observer configuration is
housed in a 3U rack-mount chassis and utilizes RAID controller hard drives for
enhanced system reliability. A basic four-channel system configuration allows 30
days archiving capacity for under $22,000. The system can scale to record any
number of channels and any recording duration by simply adding additional system
and storage units.
