Womanist, Novelist and Poet, Kola Boof, Speaks Out on the VoiceAmerica™ Network
Author of The Long Train to Redeeming Sin: Stories of African Women and target of Islamic extremists, Kola Boof gets “On the Same Page” with, Maxine Thompson on the VoiceAmerica™ Channel Tuesday, April 19th.
(PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- Only a year after returning to the public light,
Kola Boof will discuss her art, her experiences with terrorism and the evils
occurring in North Africa that she believes are being ignored by the Western
World, Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 6AM Pacific (9AM Eastern), on the
VoiceAmerica™ Channel (http://www.voice.voiceamerica.com/) She will join host Maxine
Thompson “On the Same Page” on the VoiceAmerica™ Network (http://www.voiceamerica.com/)
With increasing news of
the genocide in Sudan, described by Colin Powell as "the single worst human
rights nightmare on the planet," she returned to the public forum seeing herself
as “the only female voice representing Black Sudan in a socio-political way.”
She became the target of Islamic extremists for speaking out against the
oppression of Black Africans under the rule of Sudan's Arab-Islamic political
factions. She has dedicated her life to the empowerment of people of African
descent, especially women.
In 2002, Boof entered seclusion to protect her
family and herself after an attempt was made on her life outside Los Angeles by
Islamic extremists. In 2003 a UN report revealed that a court in Khartoum, Sudan
had issued a “FATWA" death sentence, ordering that she be beheaded for the books
she wrote and for her public condemnation of slavery, misogyny and terrorism in
North Africa.
This fascinating and controversial author, activist and
public speaker looks to 2005 to be a busy year as she is slated to release two
new books: her autobiography, Diary of a Lost Girl, in June and a collection of
erotic stories, Black Cat, in September. Tune in to hear this amazing woman's
story from seeing her parents killed for speaking out against slavery in North
Africa to living as Osama Bin Laden's mistress to more recent attacks on her
life by Islamic extremists.
