Tagsys Names New President Of Field Operations
John Jordon is appointed to drive RFID business expansion.
Doylestown, PA (PRWEB) September 7, 2005 -– TAGSYS, the global leader in
item-level RFID infrastructure, today announced that John Jordon has been
appointed as the company’s new president of field operations. Jordon, the former
president of the company’s North American operations, will immediately assume
responsibility for driving sales, energizing growth and increasing profitability
across the organization’s international offices.
Jordon brings to his
position a deep knowledge of the supply chain traceability market as well as a
strong track record in starting-up and growing businesses in the United States
and Europe. As TAGSYS’ president of North American operations, which began in
2002, Jordon led the company’s charge in the pharmaceutical sector. Prior to
joining TAGSYS, he founded the European operations for Apriso, a leading global
enterprise software company. His industry experience also includes selling and
implementing the first RFID system in the US for Gemplus.
“John Jordon
has demonstrated a thorough comprehension of the RFID sector. His tireless
determination and solid grasp of market dynamics and technological applications
make him well suited to help lead TAGSYS on a global scale,” said Elie Simon,
CEO of TAGSYS. “John’s success in developing TAGSYS’ pharmaceutical business in
the United States, a high growth sector for the company, highlights his ability
to deliver top line growth and results that will help define the next phase of
expansion for the company.”
TAGSYS’ products and solutions address select
vertical markets that will gain tangible ROI as a result of implementing RFID at
the item-level. By building its market strategy around meeting the specific RFID
tagging needs of specialized industry sectors including pharmaceuticals, fashion
apparel, libraries, and textile rental, TAGSYS is helping companies leverage the
capabilities of the technology to their full business benefit. With a market
application-specific plan in place and a strong belief in building powerful
strategic partnerships, Jordon’s insights in terms of how RFID could benefit the
pharmaceutical sector in combating counterfeiting and black marketing have
already led to TAGSYS engaging 11 of the top 15 pharmaceutical manufacturers,
packagers and distributors in the world including West Pharmaceutical
Services.
“Item-level RFID technology is the answer to supply chain
traceability and security. The FDA’s call to action along with the ground swell
of interest coming from the life sciences sectors is an encouraging sign for the
industry,” said Jordon. “Today, with a substantial IP portfolio and time-honored
market experience, TAGSYS is poised to be the leading global RFID hardware
manufacturer and integrator for item-level applications.”
With TAGSYS’
breakthroughs in highly robust and reliable tag technology that includes
versatile miniature form factors and flexible features, coupled with multi-read
tunnel, smart shelf and smart refrigerator offerings, the company is mapping the
direction RFID will take for establishing the e-Pedigree in value chain
tracking, tracing and authentication as well as inventory control at the retail
and hospital pharmacy level. In addition to pharmaceutical and other life
sciences sectors, fashion/apparel and CPG (specifically consumer electronics)
are high on the company’s list of businesses requiring operational efficiencies
that authenticate and safeguard goods, automate labor-intensive processes and
enable real-time inventory and asset visibility.
Since its inception in
1996, TAGSYS has focused on the development of item-level RFID technology and
creating specific solutions for vertical markets that are ready to reap the
benefits of item-level RFID. The company offers end-to-end RFID infrastructure
(providing chips, tags, antennas, readers, software, and integration) with
virtually 100% readability.
