People Magazine Lists Actor Thomas Tevana "50 Hottest"
People Magazine has named actor Thomas Tevana one of "50 Hottest Bachelors" in America in their latest June 27th issue to hit the newsstands this Friday, contributing to the continually diversifying American landscape, and placing him in some pretty elite company.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 17, 2005 -- Exhibitive of America's
ever-diversifying demographics, People Magazine has once again taken the lead
and placed actor Thomas Umer Tevana on their coveted "50 Hottest Bachelors"
List.
Back in California from a recent promotional tour that has seen him
traverse the globe, Tevana said, "I'm really struck. I'm still kind of taking in
the attention and just sincerely trying to get a groove within it."
Also
joining Tevana on the roster of “Hottest Bachelors” is some pretty exclusive
company of fellow actors Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Colin Farrell. “It’s a
little unreal. As their product, I hope Mom and Dad are really proud,” Tevana
quipped referring to the list title.
A native of San Francisco and a
resident of New York, he says of his People Magazine shoot, “It was incredible.
They really gave me a lot of attention which was really flattering. I had just
gotten off the plane from India after our film released and was still lost in
timezones but it went extremely well.”
“At first, I was kind of looking
over my shoulder, like, do you have the right guy?” he says.
The actor
has received critical acclaim for his performance in the mainstream Bollywood
commercial flick, "Jo Bole So Nihaal." Having been a model and a small screen
actor, he says of his film break, "The director was looking for someone who was
American, but of Indian Subcontinental origin and could carry off a natural
fluency in Hindi."
At a recent show organized by the leading South Asian
publication, Bibi Magazine, an attendee had commented, "He's one of those people
who is proud to be South Asian and yet can play many nationalities because of
his unconventional looks. Many westerners don't realize how diverse the Indian
Subcontintent is."
The actor, who recently returned from a promotional
tour across the Middle East and South Asia, is next attached to star in the
recently announced romantic comedy, "Access Denied," about an Indian-American
doctor who falls for a soul searching girl from Bombay only to find themselves
on a star-crossed, trans-continental journey.
People Magazine is among
the most successful publications in America with an audience of 40 million
readers.
PEOPLE, which prefaced the spread by noting, "Their careers are
catching fire and they're sizzling...," said its list of the 50 Hottest
Bachelors are men who are "in a class by themselves," adding the magazine
couldn't estimate the pool of candidates for the top 50. "It's enormous," a
spokesperson said at a reception held in honor of the bachelors. "I don't even
know that we can count it. ... It's really a constant ebb and flow of bachelors
and it starts out pretty big. We're seeing who's still available as we get
closer and again he's really doing well and at the top of his game. We're
looking to present the hottest."
As for being single, Tevana says "I'm
still waiting for the right girl to come along too. Did all the other guys out
there get married already?"
