Vivitar Corporation Board of Directors Announces New COO/Acting CEO and Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Change heralds new direction for 70 year old company as it seeks to even more effectively meet the changing needs of the imaging marketplace. Aggressive new product introductions play a key role.
Oxnard, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2005 -- The Vivitar Corporation Board of
Directors today announced changes at the highest levels in the organization to
better meet the changing needs of those target audiences the company currently
serves as well as new markets for future growth and greater
profitability.
Leading the change is the new COO/Acting CEO Mr. Charles
Lin. Charles, who has over 20 years of experience in the consumer electronics
and computer industries, has the proven skills to lead the organization.
The
Vivitar Board welcomed Mr. Lin's appointment and said "Charles Lin is one of the
most talented leaders in the industry. His experience in consumer goods,
especially in computers and other branded consumer electronics products, with
particular experience in distribution and marketing, and a strong track record
in operational management, bring a new depth of experience to the company."

The second key
appointment was of Mr. Hamed Hejran, formerly the Vice President of Purchasing
and Product Development, to serve as the new Vice President of Sales and
Marketing. Said Charles Lin, "Hamed has been with Vivitar for 18 years, serving
in a number of important positions, preparing him for this new key role. Hamed
and I will work very closely together as we create the corporate strategic plan
that will take us to the "Next Level" as we continue to maximize our customer
base, revenue and profitability."
Both Charles and Hamed have extensive
international as well as domestic experience, and they have already taken some
of the necessary steps to grow the business with the addition of new cameras to
meet growing consumer demand.
In the second half of 2005, Vivitar will
introduce 5 Megapixel, 6 Megapixel, 8 Megapixel slim line cameras with large
2.5" easy to read LCD screens. The company will also introduce super-light
weight and slim 3 Megapixel and 5 Megapixel cameras with auto focus, targeted to
younger users.
