Stunning and celebrated New Collections at Oceanfootage (www.OceanFootage.com) include over 200 hours of footage from Al Giddings, NHNZ, Sea Studios, Bob Glusic, Greg Huglin, David Hannan, and more!
Monterey, Calif. (PRWEB) August 23, 2005 -- With the addition of over 200
hours of select footage from acclaimed cinematographers and production
companies, the OceanFootage collection is as big as the deep blue sea. Superb
new collections, now available in Standard Definition, High-Definition and 35mm
film, include footage from such notable providers as DP and four-time Emmy
award-winner Al Giddings, as well as Natural History New Zealand (NHNZ), Bob
Glusic, Greg Huglin, David Hannan, and Sea Studios.
"It's tremendously
exciting to be able to offer such quality and diverse additions to the
OceanFootage collection," comments founder Dan Baron. "The ability to offer the
work of world-class talent to our clients is what truly sets OceanFootage apart.
These gifted providers give us an irreplaceable and awe-inspiring window on the
vastness of the ocean world -- from the Titanic on the sea floor to the crest of
a giant wave -- and everywhere in between."
Four-Time Emmy Award-Winner
Al Giddings
With a distinguished career that has spanned over three decades
to date, the celebrated cinematography of Al Giddings is legendary, and has
received a host of prestigious international awards including four Emmys and the
coveted Grierson International medal.
Giddings' collections now available
at OceanFootage include stunning footage of scientific discoveries, shipwrecks,
and visions of life in the deepest regions of the ocean depths. There's also a
breathtaking variety of locations, species, situations, and ultimately an artful
and unforgettable glimpse of some of the ocean's most beautiful and mysterious
inhabitants. This footage includes rare new animal species, life at the deep
hydro-thermal vents below 8500 feet, and even a trip in a motorized shark cage
-- surrounded by legions of sharks. Among the jewels of this collection are
Giddings' spectacular footage from many of the world's deep research
submersibles in the ocean abyss. Haunting images include the decks of the
Titanic shot from the famous Mir Russian submersibles, shipwrecks from Truk
Lagoon, and many more.
Natural History New Zealand
The addition of
footage from Natural History New Zealand is another milestone, as NHNZ offers a
wealth of quality and unique moving images in collections encompassing over 25
years of wildlife and science documentary cinematography. The new footage
available from NHNZ encompasses thousands of hours of superb moving images above
and below the ocean's surface, and while it includes spectacular footage from
the region of New Zealand, the collections also go much farther, including
images from throughout the Pacific, Antarctica, Asia, and South America.
Bob Glusic and Wilderness Video
With over 24 years of experience in
filming the beauty of nature and the ocean, Bob Glusic's spectacular footage
from Wilderness Video (in High-Definition) is another notable addition to
OceanFootage. This wide-ranging and superb collection includes beautiful imagery
from a variety of national parks, as well as time-lapse, Steadicam, and daring
aerial photography above the waves. To date, Glusic and Wilderness Video have
received nine Telly Awards, seven Communicator Awards, two Axiem Awards, three
Aurora Awards, and two Videographer Awards.
Greg Huglin
One of the
world's most talented "big wave" cinematographers, Greg Huglin is also one of
its most prolific dolphin cinematographers. Now he opens up these contrasting
yet rich and mysterious worlds in stunning and beautiful new collections sourced
on 35mm film. The collection includes exhilarating shots from above -- and
inside -- big waves, in superb surf footage already glimpsed in some of the
recent motion pictures on big-wave surfing.
By contrast, he also offers
elegant footage of dolphins leaping above the ocean's surface, frolicking in the
waves along shore, or interacting gracefully below the surface. His footage of
great white sharks is equally spectacular, with dramatic close-ups and intimate
interactions with unprotected free divers. Huglin's other areas of concentration
also include a variety of other ocean sports, as well as a unique and striking
assortment of ocean elements.
Sea Studios
Located in Monterey, Sea
Studios is dedicated to communicating a sense of wonder, appreciation and
respect for the sea and natural world. They most recently produced the acclaimed
National Geographic special Strange Days on Planet Earth, which explored the
problems of global climate change, invasive species, the loss of top predators,
and toxins in the waters. The footage includes material from their award-winning
documentary "The Shape of Life," an eight-hour series that chronicles the rise
of animal life on earth, shot on High-Definition.
David
Hannan
Another superb addition to the OceanFootage family of providers is
cinematographer, director and producer David Hannan. David has won international
acclaim for his tropical and temperate marine footage (as first seen in his
now-classic video Coral Sea Dreaming from 1992), and specializes in extremely
close-up artistic marine imagery. Many years, documentaries, and DVDs later,
David remains passionate about all things marine and since 2001 has filmed
exclusively on High-Definition in a joint venture with ProCam in Brisbane,
Australia. Meanwhile, over the last three years, David and his partner Lucy
Trippett have filmed at Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, in the Kelp Forests
of Tasmania, on numerous field trips to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, and
Antarctica, to name a few of the exciting locations now accessible at
OceanFootage.
