First in a Series of Manuals for Open Source / Free Software
Connect Computing publishes "Trying Linux with Knoppix 3.6" which includes a 30 page manual and a full version of Knoppix Linux on CD.
(PRWEB) October 4, 2004 -- Connect Computing has announced offering the first
in a series of Open and Free Software products available on their website. These
products consist of CD's with a manual that will help people move to Open Source
/ Free software. The first product is titled "Trying Linux with Knoppix 3.6".
Even though all this software is available for download on the Internet, people
often do not have a fast enough connection or CD-Burning software to get
it.
"Knoppix is a great way to try Linux but for a new comer to Linux or
a casual user may need some help. We hope that our products provide this help
and make Linux more available to people", said Roy Hoobler of Connect
Computing.
In the near future, we plan to produce a "Trying Open Office"
which will come with a CD and a printed guide of more advanced topics that home
and office users will find helpful. We also are looking into creating our own
branded Knoppix CD that is setup for small business users.
