Affiliate Program Manager Training Back by Popular Demand
New York, NY – December 13 – Due to overwhelming demand, the Affiliate Program training course, Affiliate Manager Boot Camp, is back and will run on February 26 and 27. The second Affiliate Manager Boot Camp, sponsored by ReveNews.com and Shawn Collins Consulting, provides an intensive workshop for a small group of affiliate managers. The Boot Camp will span two days and will consist of content sessions on a variety of topics, breakout discussions, Q&A, informal networking, and one-on-one assistance for optimizing affiliate programs.
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- Wayne Porter, Editor of event
sponsor ReveNews.com concurs, “I believe affiliate managers need formal
education to work through a variety of complex issues with their affiliate
programs.”
There is a strong need for affiliate manager training.
Affiliates are not happy with most affiliate programs, which are largely staffed
by “unresponsive, uninterested, and uninformed program managers,” according to
the AffStat 2004 Report (http://www.affstat.com).
While affiliate marketing is
still a relatively new channel in online marketing, the majority of big players
in e-commerce understand the power of affiliate programs, as evidenced by the
preponderance of affiliates programs in the Internet Retailer Top 300 Retail Web
Sites (http://www.internetretailer.com/top300/top300sheet.htm).
Two affiliate managers who have been involved in the affiliate marketing
space since the 1990s, Beth Kirsch and Shawn Collins, have recognized the need
for education among affiliate managers.
They are running the second
Affiliate Manager Boot Camp over the weekend of February 26–27 in the Pocono
Mountains (Bushkill, PA).
“The purpose of Affiliate Manager Boot Camp is
to provide an intensive workshop for a maximum of ten affiliate managers,”
according to organizer, Beth Kirsch. “We will be providing them with a
personalized experience that will positively affect their affiliate program and
their bottom line. The first Boot Camp was great and we have improved our
curriculum this time around.”
The Boot Camp spans two days and will
consist of content sessions on a variety of topics, breakout discussions,
Q&A, informal networking, and one-on-one assistance for optimizing affiliate
programs.
The cost to attend Affiliate Manager Boot Camp will be $1,000
and includes:
- Registration and materials
- Lunch and Dinner on
November 6
- Breakfast and Lunch on November 7
- Free Wi-Fi access
-
Energy food and drinks available all the time
- Participation in a private
affiliate manager forum with attendees and organizers after the Boot Camp
-
Creation of a personalized action plan
Attendees will be able to take
advantage of a group rate at the Tamiment Resort – www.tamiment.com – where they
can enjoy the amenities of this beautiful 2,200 acre Pocono Resort in their
downtime. Recreational activities include a 90 acre scenic lake, indoor pool,
indoor sports complex (featuring fitness room, tennis, racquetball, and sauna),
and snow tubing. Plus, the facility is a short ride from the Shawnee Mountain
Ski Area.
“The Affiliate Manager Boot Camp will basically be MTV’s Real
World meets affiliate marketing. We’re bringing together a diverse group of
affiliate managers to work and learn together,” commented organizer, Shawn
Collins. “We were excited to see the program work the first time, and this time
around, we plan to use our learnings to build an event stronger
agenda.”
The curriculum for the event will cover issues such as affiliate
recruiting techniques, standing out from the crowded field of affiliate
programs, writing effective affiliate communications, and avoiding
pitfalls.
Feedback from participants from the first Boot Camp was
overwhelmingly positive. Below are some of the comments:
I really
enjoyed the chance to interact with the other AM's in attendance--the advantage
of having such a small group. The food was great; Shawn's house is fantastic.
- Amanda Moralis, Affiliate Marketer, The Eastwood Company
What an
awesome experience! Shawn and Beth were great, I had a million questions going
into this, they patiently and in great detail answered each one. I would highly
recommend it to anyone interested. We had the opportunity to build close
relationships with everyone there and create an "Affiliate Manager Team" that we
can depend on in the future. Kudos to Shawn and Beth - excellent job!
- Amy
Rodriguez, Affiliate Manager, CARFAX
The Boot Camp was just what my
program needed. I learned what my program should have to be successful. I found
learning about the different types of affiliates especially useful in realizing
where I should spend my time recruiting. Overall, I feel like I have a better
understanding of what my affiliates what from me, and I learned how to provide
it for them.
- Brock Hadley, Affiliate Manager, US Institute of
Languages
I really enjoyed meeting everyone and being able to bounce
ideas off of each other. I found that everyone contributed and made it easier to
grasp concepts from many different angles.
- Monica Holton, Affiliate
Manager, Aluria Software
