Dr. Explain Documents Your Software Application Automatically

Cognitive Force Group introduces Dr.Explain, a new software tool that automates the authoring of help systems.

(PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- Cognitive Force Group introduces Dr.Explain for Windows 2000/XP, a new software tool that automates the authoring of help systems. Dr.Explain captures windows from a live application, creates screenshots and automatically adds references to all window's controls: buttons, edit fields, radio buttons, dropdown lists, and other elements. The technology enables you to write software manuals fast and without exhausting text and image formatting.

While other window capture tools are mostly used for image processing, Dr.Explain analyzes the structure of a window's elements, enumerates them, and attaches numbered callouts to all significant elements. You may easily customize the appearance of the labels, screenshots, and callouts. Dr.Explain recognizes various controls and creates titled labels for them. You must just add some description if needed. This considerably reduces the time of documenting your application's graphical user interface.

All captured windows are stored in a single project file and may be grouped by modules. To update a certain window in the project when a new version of your software is ready you may easily replace the screenshot and add new control references. All previous references will be kept. You need not to waste your time by recreating them.

You may export a project at once into a set of HTML pages with screenshots, color callouts, menus, and index page. These pages are ready for immediate upload onto your web server or for conversion into another format. The program allows customizing the appearance of the visual elements, the structure of the menus and page layout.

The introductory price of a single user license is $60(US). The price will be effective till the end of the August, at which time it will be $90(US).
