W.E. O’Neil Construction Wins the Gaming Vision Award for Contractor of the Year and Best Overall Construction project for a tribal casino and resort for Harrah's Rincon Casino and Resort.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 1, 2005 -- During the 2005 American Gaming
Association sponsored conference at the newly opened Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas,
W.E. O’Neil Construction was awarded both Contractor of the Year and Best
Construction Project for a Tribal Casino and Resort for the Harrah’s Rincon
Casino and Resort located in Valley Center. W.E. O’Neil Construction Co. of CA
provided general contracting services for each phase of the four phase project
and successfully delivered one of the premier casino/resort destinations in San
Diego and the first nationally branded casino in Southern
California.
Through each phase, trust and communication between the
owners, Harrah’s Entertainment and the Rincon Band of Mission Indians and
architect, Paul Steelman, enabled each phase to be delivered on schedule and on
budget.
The first three phases included the construction of the 263,000
square-foot luxury resort and casino with 1,600 slot machines, eight dining
facilities, a 900 seat entertainment venue, and four story hotel.
The fourth
significant expansion to the facility included the new construction of a 21
story hotel tower adding 460 rooms and suites, a new retail outlet, a 4 story
1,200 space parking garage, a 7,500 sf full service spa, an upgraded pool and
garden area, and the expansion of the existing casino space and diamond lounge
area by over 30,000 sf.
