Mike Trainor, Chief Mobile Technology Evangelist at Intel to Keynote at Portable Media Expo and Podcaster Conference
Trainor to deliver Intel's view of the future for portable audio, video and podcasting at tradeshow outside Los Angeles November 11-12, 2005.
Laguna Niguel, CA (PRWEB via PR Web
Direct) June 17, 2005 -- Adding to the strong lineup of experts within
portable media, Mike Trainor, Chief Mobile Technology Evangelist at Intel, will
deliver a keynote address at the Portable Media Expo on Saturday, November 12,
2005. The new conference and expo focusing on podcasting and portable digital
audio and video is expected to attract 2,000 content creators, media executives,
device manufacturers, retailers, podcasters and portable media
enthusiasts.
At the recent Intel Developer Forum, Intel Corporation
unveiled its latest concept mobile PCs, which advance Intel's vision of anytime,
anywhere computing. The new designs demonstrate how future Intel® Centrino™
mobile technology platforms could be used to provide "on-the-go" entertainment
for consumers and enhanced innovation for "digital office" users.
Intel
specifically addressed the subject of "entertainment wherever you go," allowing
consumers in the future to enjoy digital entertainment away from, in and around
the home. Intel envisions that software would allow consumers to access
("outside-in") and/or synchronize ("sync-n-go") content from a digital home PC
or network to use with the concept mobile PC.
Trainor is expected to
expand on this and discuss his vision of where portable devices and content are
headed.
Exhibit Hall To Showcase "Tools of the Trade" for Podcast and
Portable Content Creators
The exhibit hall at Portable Media Expo will
showcase the latest software tools, audio and video hardware, digital players
and devices, and other useful resources for independent podcasters and digital
media companies. Individual podcasters are a new and rapidly-growing market for
pro audio hardware and software. In an effort to produce professional-sounding
talk and music shows, many podcasters are spending a significant amount of money
on studio-quality microphones, mixers and editing software. Companies that have
traditionally sold professional tools, mainly to recording studios and
musicians, now have a new base of customers looking for solutions. While the
majority of podcasters have focused on audio, podcasting video is already
growing in popularity.
The growing number of portable media devices has
added fuel to the fire of portable audio and video. Companies are beginning to
offer downloadable content that can then be transferred to portable devices
automatically with software. As more content becomes available, an increasing
number of devices will find their way into the hands of consumers thirsty for
niche content. Devices that are web-enabled eliminate the computer altogether,
and are able to download content right to the player.
Portable Content
Summit and The Podcaster Conference
Portable Media Expo will also offer two
days of educational sessions in two tracks. The Portable Content Summit and The
Podcaster Conference programs will feature tutorials on business models, content
creation, promotion, licensing, syndication, distribution, delivery methods and
digital rights management. Participating companies include Yahoo! Search,
RealNetworks, Audible, Inc., Forrester Research, PayPal, EMusic.com and many
others. Details can be found at http://www.portablemediaexpo.com/conference.htm
