ATP Introduces World’s First to the Market 1GB RS-MMC(Reduced-Sized MultiMediaCard) at CTIA 2005
ATP Electronics Inc., a leading manufacturer of memory products, announced today the introduction of the world’s first to market 1GB RS-MMC at CTIA 2005, where ATP is demonstrating this and many other exciting memory card products at booth #973. ATP 1GB RS-MMC cards mainly target new generation mobile phones with built-in megapixel cameras, video recorders, MP3 players, video games, personal information management (PIM), email and SMS functions where high memory capacity in a small form factor is critical.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2005 -- According to IDC, the market for
mobile phones will grow to over 798 million by 2008 and mobile phones with
memory card slots will reach 246.8 million in 2005. The latest multi-function
rich media mobile phones launched by major cell phone makers such as Nokia,
Samsung, Siemens, Pantech, and many others come with RS-MMC card slots. “This
new market represents a significant opportunity for ATP high capacity RS-MMC. We
expect that in the coming years most shipments of the flash cards will be for
use with mobile phones. Demand for high capacity, miniature memory cards will
increase dramatically, driven by next generation mobile phones with memory
slots. We are excited to be the leader in providing high density, quality and
performance memory cards such as the 1GB RS-MMC into our flash media product
lines to meet the market demands.” said Danny Lin, ATP VP of Sales and
Marketing.
At roughly a gram in weight and half the size of regular MMC,
ATP RS-MMC is designed to deliver exceptional functionality and performance from
a tiny form factor. Just like all other ATP manufactured flash media, ATP RS-MMC
offers weatherproof durability with ample protection from water, dust,
electrostatic discharge, and extreme temperatures.
Along with RS-MMC,
ATP has been continuing to develop first to market products to meet the
demanding applications coming to the market. ATP 1GB RS-MMC, for example,
provides mobile OEMs the freedom to better integrate rich multimedia function
into the devices, thereby enabling the next cellular evolution. In addition, the
open standards advantage of RS-MMC allows for easy adoption by device
manufacturers.
ATP RS-MMC is compatible with the existing MultiMediaCard
(MMC) standard and is also available in 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512MB capacities.
The complete ATP flash media product lines includes MMC, RS-MMC, Dual Voltage
RS-MMC, SD, and miniSD. Also, ATP 1GB miniSD will be available shortly in this
April.
