Ultra-Miniature RTC Crystal From Euroquartz For Battery and Hand-Held Applications
Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched a new range of ultra-miniature crystals providing 32.768kHz output for use in real-time clock applications.
(PRWEB) June 6, 2005 -- Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched
a new range of ultra-miniature crystals providing 32.768kHz output for use in
real-time clock applications. The devices are housed in surface mount packages
measuring just 3.2 x 1.2 x 0.95mm making the crystals ideal for use in
battery-powered and hand-held equipment.
Euroquartz EQ157 series crystals
are designed to provide the smallest possible component size for real-time clock
applications and also feature low mass rugged construction. Nominal frequency is
32.7680kHz with calibration tolerance of ±20ppm at 25 deg
C.
Specifications include maximum drive level of 1uW, load capacitance
(CL) of 12.5 or 7pF, equivalent series resistance of 65k ohms, temperature
coefficient of -0.035/deg C² (parabolic), and shunt capacitance of 1.7pF
typical. Ageing is ±5ppm maximum in first year at 25 deg C with operating
temperature range from -40 to +85 deg C. Storage temperature range is -55 to
+125 deg C.
Suitable for reflow soldering for 10s maximum at 260 deg C
twice or 180s at 230 deg C once, the X cut EQ157 series crystals are supplied
packaged in bulk in standard EIA tape and reel.
